A New Holiday

Well….. Today was a holiday on account of Kanaka Jayathi. The whole of Karnataka cerebrating the Karnataka Rajyotsava few days back have started a new holiday from this year on known as the Kanaka Jayathi. Don’t ask me what it is for… I guess it has something to do with Kanakadasa.

For student like me it only gets better and better since

More Holidays = Less boring lectures
Less boring lectures = More fun
More fun = Friends and Movies

Hottest Newdude

Today’s news from IBN Live shows that there are Hottest Newcomers in Bollywood this year.

The six newcomers who were in the running for their smashing debuts were:

  • Imran Khan
  • Ranbir Kapoor
  • Neil Nitin Mukesh
  • Harman Baweja
  • Rajeev Khandelwal
  • Sikander Kher

Imran Khan received rave reviews for his performance in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and a record opening at the box office.

Ranbir Kapoor might not have had a dream debut with Saawariya but his clean, good looks and his impish smile have the filmmakers lining up.

Legendary singer Mukesh’s grandson, Neil Nitin Mukesh signed up for an unconventional debut and though Johnny Gaddar didn’t rock the box office, the youngster made quite an impact and is ready to swim against the tide if need be.

Harman Baweja has been dubbed as a Hrithik Roshan clone and his Rs 50 crore debut, Love Story 2050, did not make the right impact. But with filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowariker and Sanjay Leela Bhansali swearing by him, here is a star to watch out for.

Rajeev Khandelwal defied critics and made the switch from small screen to the silver screen with his debut Aamir and received rave reviews for his performance.

With his unconventional good looks and style, Sikander Kher made a creditable debut with Woodstock Villa. His next movie, Summer of 2007 may not be very hot, but he has surely arrived.

My Comment : Its not their charm thats worked actually.

Imran Khan , Ranbhir Kapoor, Neil Nitin, Harman, Sikander…. All of them are sons( nephew in case of Imraan Khan ) of celebrities and some of them surely rose to this level not because of their acting skills but to because of the tremendous attention given by the media.

154 3 26 Imran Had his uncle Aamir who was the producer of Jane Tu… itself.

Ranbhir Kapoor is the son of Rishi Kapoor and Deepika’s Boyfriend( I can’t tell who is more important Deepika or Rishi).

Neil Nitin is the guy whom I don’t know much about ( Just like evryone else I have not watched Johnny Gaddar).

Harman Baweja is a Hrithik lookalike and Harry Baweja’s Son. ( I wish instead of Hrithik’s looks he had got Hrithik’s acting skills.)

Not much to say about Rajeev Khandelwal except the fact that most of his fans are the ones who watched Kahin To Hoga and Left Right Left.

Sikander is Anupan Kher’s son and looks a lot like an ugly apeman. If he’s hot… Then I’m King Khan.

That probably proves my point , I guess. So which one among these you find hottest. Please reply.

Boothnath……My Review

I watched Bhoothnath today at home and it was a very good film. In this film Amithabh Bachan plays the character of a Bhooth who befriends a boy by the name of Banku and the story is about the friendship and the attachment between the Ghost and the Boy.

The first half of the film was really good and shows the mischievousness of the boy Banku and his reaction with the Bhooth. But the second half of the film was a drag and could have been shorter since there was needless emotions and a melodramatic story of the Bhooth himself. Overall 3 stars out of 5

Hostel and Hostel2

I watched the movie Hostel and Hostel2 the other day. And it was terrible movie. I would have loved to watch nice movies but this one I didn’t expect to see. Very brutal movie. In Hostel2 there was scene in which a Penis of a man was cut by the woman and it was thrown to the dogs. I was about to vomit at that time.

I don’t know why I watched that movie. Can’t call it a complete waste of time but it was ok in the sense hat they scared the hell out of me.
