Rock On – Music Review

I got the Rock On music Cd from my friend and I listened to the its songs. I was surprised to find out that most of the songs are sung by Farhan Akhtar himself and this guy surely can sing!!!!! With Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy giving the music and Javed Akhtar’s lyrics , the expectations are normally high. So I decided to rate the songs myself.( Afterall  I have a blog and and what’s the use of it when I can’t review the songs I listen.)

My Ratings

• Socha hai – I liked this song very much. Sung by Farhan Akhtar, brings out the freshness in his voice as well as the music. 10/10 for this one.
• Pichle Saat Dino Mein: Another good track but not one of my favorites. 7/10 for this.
• Rock On!! : This is the best song in the album and I liked it very much. The music gives a very nice feeling. 10/10 for this.
• Zehreelay:  This is one song that I didn’t like in the album. neither the music nor the lyrics made any sense to me. 1/10 .I wouldn’t even give that.
• Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein, Tum Toh Ho, Phir Dekhiye, Sindbad the Sailor: these were average songs meant actually to complete the album or are probably overshadowed by the better songs in the album. I grade an average 6/10 to each of these songs.

Final Verdict

On an average its a very good album. Worth buying it. Might not mke a classic in my collection but still a new kind of Hindi music for a change.
